Pictures in Flight

Inspired by Julianne Kost's wonderful book Window Seat, I've been starting to take pictures on my recent flurry of flights. My photography skills and Photoshop skills are no where near Julianne's but it's been fun taking the pictures. Here's one from a recent trip out to New York. This is somewhere between Portland and Minneapolis.

Here's the original.

I then duplicated the background layer and changed the Blend Mode to Multiply.

I duplicated that layer and changed the Blend Mode to Overlay and adjusted the opacity to 38%.

Finally, I added a Curves adjustment layer and adjusted the Black Point. The result is below.

On the Road - Ojai

Just before Thanksgiving, I headed down to Ojai, CA for a few days to the Lynda.com Development Center to record several hours worth of training for Mask Pro. There's nothing quite like sitting in a recording booth for 2 days straight. :-)

The weather was great though for the time that I was outside.

Super Late Post - Pics from PhotoPlus East

Wow, November is almost over. I can't believe it. This has been an incredibly busy month for us at onOne Software. We were at the PhotoPlus Expo and had a great show. I'm posting a few pictures here that I took with my compact Canon SD 550. I call it "New York in Motion".
