I just got an email from one of our best partners, Steve Herzberg at PrairieFire Productions, letting me know about an upcoming seminar on March 1st and 2nd of 2008. The seminar is with John Woodward and it sounds like they've got a great two full days of information planned - and it's only $350. Here's what the schedule has on the agenda.

Day 1
Composition
Control
Getting Enhanced Dynamic Range
Picking Our Tools Wisely (lenses, lights)
Portraits
Portraits in the Studio
Lighting Things

Day 2
Lighting the Woodward Way (high key, low key, glamour, cup, etc)
Adding Drama and Impact
Putting it to Work
Finished Products

About John Woodward
John received the Photographer of the Year award from the Professional Photographers of America at the national convention this year. As a double honor, he was the recipien of the ASP's Educational Associate as well (which has only been received by 37 people in the 70 year history of the organization!).

John has been a working professional for 38 years and his clients include Chase, Citibank, Paramount, Cunnard, RJR Nabisco, Viacom, Hyatt and Marriott. He has photographed Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin and the Rolling Stones not to mention photographing five Presidents, the Pope, the Dalai Lama and several First Ladies.

If that's not enough, he was also the Official Photographer for the New York Yankees (hey John, can you hook me up with some tickets?!) for six seasons.

Bottom line, you're getting the opportunity to learn from one of the great photographers/teachers around.

The seminar will be held at the PrairieFire Productions studio in Houston, Texas so if you're in the area, definitely consider going. For more information, visit the PrairieFire site.
