I recently sat down with Vincent Versace at his studio near Hollywood and he was gracious enough to share with us some of the reasons that he has used Genuine Fractals on 100% of the images that Vincent has created for over the past 10 years. But enough of me talking about this. Just watch the video below!

[...] Why Vincent Versace Uses Genuine Fractals 6 [...]

This is a great idea to store photos! But I use LR2 for cataloging. I sometimes use the GF Pro plug-in in LR2. It would be great if we could use stn files in LR2 just like we use raw, jpeg, tiff, etc. Anything in the works on this?

Hey Jimmy B – no plans as yet to try to get .STN file support into Lightroom. There is no file format plug-in for Lightroom to the best of my knowledge and I don’t think Adobe has any plans to add this file format to Lightroom. It’s still a good option for archiving. You can get a lot more .stn files onto a backup hard drive than TIFF, NEF, CR2 or PSD files. In the end though, it is another file format and you’ll have to decide how valuable it is to you. Some users I know swear by it. Others choose to keep their files in the native file format.
