Benefits of Custom White Balance

In those photos I shared the other day, one of the things I set in the camera was the custom white balance. Using the Auto, Florescent and Tungsten light white balance settings in camera produced results that I wasn't happy with. The photos had a very unattractive color cast and to get rid of it I used an Expo Disc to get a custom white balance. Here are the results from each of the auto settings - Auto White Balance, Florescent and Tungsten. I think you'll agree all of them are less than ideal.

Here's the image that you get when you calibrate the camera using the ExpoDisc.

After setting the camera's white balance setting to use the above photo, here's what I get without any further adjustments.

Custom white balance - no more color cast!
