Hey everybody. Just a quick note to let you and others who are on the fence about the DSLR Camera Remote app for the iPhone that the introductory pricing of $9.99 for the Professional Version is going to end tomorrow. The new price is going to be the previously stated $19.99.
If you are a Nikon user and you’ve been waiting to get this app until it has support in it, please note that Nikon support will be added in the upcoming 1.1 update.
Version 1.1 Update will be Free
The update to version 1.1 will be free to all owners of version 1.0 (either the Lite or the Professional versions) and when it comes out next month, you’ll be able to update via the iTunes App Store. We are currently working on the 1.1 update for the app and it will include support for Nikon DSLR cameras among other new features.
Here is a list of the Nikon DSLR Cameras that will be supported in version 1.1 of DSLR Camera Remote.
- Nikon D40
- Nikon D40x
- Nikon D60
- Nikon D80
- Nikon D90
- Nikon D5000
- Nikon D200
- Nikon D300
- Nikon D700
- Nikon D3
- Nikon D3x
Nikon D2 users – Unfortunately, the support for this camera is not documented in the Nikon SDK and as such, we cannot confirm that our iPhone app will work with any variation of the D2 camera body.

what else what else???

@Tim:
I’m hoping to be able to share a more definitive list of features for the 1.1 update next week. We’re still investigating a couple of items to see if what we want to be able to do is viable through both the Canon and Nikon SDKs. But if you look at this list here (http://www.ononesoftware.com/blog/dslr-camera-remote-feature-requests/) you’ll see what we are hearing from customers and what we would like to accomplish.

Hi Mike,
I have the Nikon D300. I’m sure you’ve asked a million times, but is the release of 1.1 for Nikon going to be soon? Will an intro pricing be available for Nikon users like the Canon users?
I was going to buy the app today, but don’t see any reason to hurry since there is no discount for Nikon users.
Looking forward to your response and update.
Thanks,
Randy

Is the Nikon going to have Live View as well? Specifically D90.
Thank you.

Hey Mike! I was out of town last week and missed your update. This is exciting news for Nikon owners, but I don’t think they should be penalized for not getting in on the action in round 1.0 of your application discount. Not many would buy an app at discount that didn’t function with their camera. Please reconsider the discount and see if you can make it work out for Nikon users.

I agree with the above comment from Nano. Why would I buy this if it does not work with my main camera ? Pay now in hopes that in a few weeks my camera will be in the list? That is why I did not buy it on the into price. So many variables could happen causing this update to be pushed back. Maybe Apple has an issue with the update and it gets pushed back several months, etc..
I hope when the update goes live for Nikon On-One offers a special for Nikon owners.

I agree with the others. You gave the Canon users a long intro period and just when you (might) come out with a Nikon version, the price doubles. Been following this with interest for awhile now but your pricing is very disappointing. No, make that VERY disappointing.

Howdy,
I just saw – unfortunately for the first time – the article about OnOne DSLR Camera Remote and the introductory discount in ‘Photoshop User’ magazine (July/August issue ). There’ll be a slew of Canon shooters who also read this for the first time and missed the deal. OnOne should coordinate with publishers a little better to avoid this type of incorrect message. Better yet, can you honor the ‘Photoshop User’ deal?
Thanks.

Still working on it. Plan on submitting to the App Store early next week. From there it’s up to Apple to approve. Just trying to make sure we get all of the bugs we can find fixed before releasing. Thanks for your patience.

to anyone who feels the same as these complaining nikon users: I am a nikon user and I purchased the app at the intro price. why?
1. onone is a reputable company. I felt safe trusting them to follow through or provide a refund if for some reason they couldn’t follow through on nikon support.
2. if I misjudged and onone stole my money, it was only ten dollars. most of you will spend more than that at a casino or on lotto tickets. this was a much less risky gamble.
if you knew abt the intro pricing and you failed to buy, that was your bad bet. asking onone for another introductory pricing period is silly.
