For those of you who have Plug-In Suite 4.5, we have posted an updater that bumps the software up to version 4.5.1. The Plug-In Suite 4.5.1 update includes the following:
- Fixes to address product activation issues where the software would incorrectly say that the software was already activated or wouldn’t allow you to activate at all.
- Fixes to improve the integration between Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 and Apple Aperture 2.1 and the plug-ins within the Plug-In Suite that support them. Specifically: Genuine Fractals, PhotoFrame, PhotoTools and FocalPoint.
- Fixes to PhotoTools 2 for Windows users who experienced error messages when there was no error.
This 4.5.1 update is free to all registered Plug-In Suite 4 users and the update is available either as a direct download from our Software Updates page or via the Check for Updates menu item within any of the plug-ins included in the Plug-In Suite. If you don’t get an automated message from within one of the plug-ins that there is an update available, go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates.

Thanks for the update. I’m curious, what is the expected time frame for supporting Photoshop CS4 64bit?

I have 4.5 installed but when I try to install the 4.5.1 update, I am told that 4.5.1 cannot be installed because the updater cannot find 4.5 or later on this computer. I have tried to update through downloads and also through the update notifier within the 4.5 plug-in.

@Ina: When we’ve seen this behavior, it’s often because a “receipt” file stored on the computer that our installer looks for has been moved or deleted. That receipt tells our installer what version of the software is installed, so if it’s not there for whatever reason, you start seeing these types of error messages.
In this case, I would suggest going to our Support Download page and downloading the full version of the Plug-In Suite 4.5.1. I know it’s a big download for an update, but it might be your best bet at this point.
Thank you.

@Dave: Later this year. Probably in the late Fall time frame.

Mike, I just bought the plug-in Suite and I am very excited to start using it. Not sure where to post thist question, but I am looking for a receipe for fixing teenage skin issues, including acne and red areas. Found this post, but couldn’t add a question there: http://www.ononesoftware.com/blog/2008/07/08/senior-portraits-with-phototools/. If you can point me to anything relevant that will be great. Feel free to move my question to another post that is perhaps on this topic. Thanks!

So does the release of 5.0 mean you will not be supporting Photoshop CS4 64bit in 4.5?

I have Plug in Suite 4 (with 4.5.1 update) installed in Photoshop CS4 I have just upgraded to CS5 and when I run the 4.5.1 upgrade it asks me if I want to install it in CS4 or CS5 When I tick CS5 I am told that there is no Plug In Suite detected in CS5. However, although the Plug In Suite installation screen comes up on inserting the Suite 4 DVD, when I hit the Install bar it changes colour but nothing happens. Is it possible to install Suite 4 in CS5??

@Niall Ferguson: Suite 4 does not support Photoshop CS5. The installer will most likely not put the right parts in the right places. To get full CS5 compatibility, you’re best bet is to go with Suite 5.1.
