For all of you who have been patiently awaiting, I’m happy to report to you that we have finished the development and testing of the 1.1 update to our DSLR Camera Remote app for the iPhone (and iPod Touch). This 1.1 update is free to all 1.0 users and will show up on your iPhone or iTunes as an available update when the app goes through the approval and review process of the iTunes App Store.
Please note, just to be clear, the 1.1 update is not yet available for download, but we have submitted it to the iTunes App Store for review. The review process can take as few as 2 days or as many as 2 weeks depending on the number of other iPhone apps that are awaiting approval ahead of our submission. These things just take time.
I will be sure to post a new entry here on the blog when we get the approval and I will also put out a tweet on Twitter. If you want to be one of the first to know, subscribe to the RSS feed for this blog or follow me on Twitter.
The full list of features in the 1.1 update can be found here. In addition to Canon T1i support,we have also added support for many of the Nikon DSLR cameras as well. A full list of supported cameras (both Canon and Nikon) can be found here.

Will the price stay at $19.99? Is there any advantage for us Nikon users to get version 1.0 and the “free” update to v1.1?

By the way, congratulations on getting this out. I know that as soon as Apple releases it, you will have a lot of happy Nikon users on your hands.

This is good news. I have a Euro-Basket qualification game on the 20th and hope this will help a lot configuring my backboard remote. Thanks a lot for your efforts, sorry for my anxiety!
Best regards, Bruno.

Is it safe to assume that the server will be available from the OnOne site once the app clears the Apple review process??

Just a suggestion, but if you can, you may want to think about editing your description on iTunes App Store to indicate that:
1) v1.1 has been submitted to Apple
2) Release in the app store is up to Apple but expected within two weeks from the 6th
3) Info on new features and supported cameras can be found at …..
I say this just because I went on today and saw a review of a 1 star rating from a T1i user frustrated that the new release hasn’t hit the app store yet (it was obvious he didn’t know that you had already submitted to Apple). Anyway, just a suggestion.

I take it the 1.1 server will be released when we see the iPhone app hit the App Store? As of now, 1.0 says it doesn’t see any cameras while connected to my Nikon D300.

I am excited to try this with my Nikons as an alternative to the rather costly Nikon Camera Control app. However, the real power will be when it allows straight USB tethering from the phone to the camera. With Apple’s Accessory tools in their latest SDK I am really hoping we see this soon. Not needed the computer connected will give this so much more functionality.

So, Mike, how many times a day are you checking for email with the subject line “Ready for Sale”?

This wait knowing it is so close, is excruciating!

I think the fact that I know this update is coming makes it that much worse. I cannot wait for the t1i support. Hopefully we’ll see it this week.

@henning:
well, given that the app store is suppose to get it out within between 2 days and 2 weeks, my guess is that we’re now looking at a release tomorrow or Wednesday (since of course this has to be as excruciating as possible for those of us anxiously awaiting it, so it looks like its going down to the wire)

Dan: “What day did you submit v1.1 to the App store?”
Mike: “I thought YOU submitted it to the App store.”
Together: “oh shit!”

The fact that this software is coming has shamed me into using twitter. I hope you all will be stronger than me and resist the urge.
