Free Valentine’s Themed Presets for PhotoFrame 4.5 Professional Edition

I’ve had several requests lately for some new Valentine’s themed presets/layouts for PhotoFrame 4.5 Professional Edition, so I sat down this morning, put on some Taylor Swift music in the background and created a few layouts in PhotoFrame 4.5 Professional Edition.

The presets use three different backgrounds that were originally designed by Kersti Malvre and were first included in the PhotoFrame 4.5 release. Each also has a different camera edge frame that is blurred out and set to black to give a unique and non-symmetrical vignette. The first preset also includes an adornment from Vicki Taufer. All presets use the same photograph frame that was designed by Vincent Versace.

To download these free presets, click on each image below or just head on over to the onOne Exchange.

Please note, the fonts/typefaces used in these presets are not included in the preset. The type was added in Photoshop after I applied the presets to the photo. Links to where you can purchase each of the fonts is included on the onOne Exchange.

The New onOne Palette

One the most common questions we have received since the release of our Plug-In Suite 5 is “How do I get to the plug-ins? I only see Mask Pro 4 in the Photoshop CS4 Filter menu. Where are Genuine Fractals, PhotoTools, PhotoFrame, PhotoTune and FocalPoint?” Well, the short answer is that technically, the only “Filter” that we develop here at onOne is Mask Pro 4. The rest of the plug-ins technically are Automation plug-ins and “live” elsewhere within Photoshop.

High-Pass Contrast Mask Preset for PhotoTools

I created a new preset for PhotoTools 2.5 Professional Edition and it is posted on the onOne Exchange. The preset is called High-Pass Contrast Mask and I created it on the expo floor at Imaging USA in Nashville earlier this month when a PhotoTools 2.5 user asked me if we could get this specific look he was trying to get. He seemed very pleased with the effect so I thought I would post it for everybody else as well. I hope you enjoy it. Here’s a before and after example of the effect on a photo I took of my daughter recently.

DSLR Camera Remote – #1 iPhone app for Photographers

top-10-iphone-apps

In case you haven’t already read the PDN Gear Guide from November 27th, I’m excited to share with you that our DSLR Camera Remote application for the iPhone (and the iPod Touch) was listed as the number one iPhone app for Photographers.

When we first saw onOne Software’s DSLR Camera Remote app, we thought: “Whoa.” After we got a chance to play with [it] we revised our opinion and thought: “Holy Smokes! This isn’t just cool, it’s actually useful.”

You can check out the rest of the top 10 iPhone apps for photographers at the PDN web site. I own a few of the other apps and have just purchased 2 more.

Scott Kelby’s 4th Annual Gonzo Gear Guide

Like many of you I suspect, I just got my copy of Photoshop User magazine in the mail. This is one of the issues that I look forward to the most because it includes Scott Kelby’s annual Gonzo Gear Guide. I always enjoy reading about the gear that Scott recommends and usually find myself picking up at least one of the items on the list each year.

Last year, Scott included PhotoFrame 4 as the only Photoshop plug-in on the list. This year, Scott has expanded the software category to include a couple of additional plug-ins along with our brand new Photoshop plug-in FocalPoint 2. Turn to page 43 in your December 2009 issue of Photoshop User magazine to see for yourself. Also on the list in the software category are Viveza 2 from Nik Software and Topaz Adjust from Topaz Labs.

The items on this list this year that I think I’ll be picking up for myself or asking my wife to get me include David DuChemin’s new book Within the Frame: The Journey of Photographic Vision (available from Peachpit or Amazon); a Lastolite TriGrip One-Stop diffuser (Lastolite or B&H); or the Lastolite Hot Shoe EZYBox (Lastolite or B&H).
