Using DSLR Remote – Basketball Shoot

As I mentioned in the post introducing the new DSLR Remote iPhone app, here’s a brief video that shows you a little bit more about it. Still waiting to hear back from Apple if the app has been approved for the iTunes App Store.

And yes, the basketball did hit my camera in that opening sequence. It was one of those moments where everything went into slow motion and I saw the ball bounce towards and subsequently hit my camera. Fortunately, the Delkin Fat Gecko suction cup mount we were using held firm.

Keep in mind that even though at the end of the video I say to go download it today, it’s not quite available yet until Apple gives it their full blessing. I’ll be sure to notify everybody here when it’s available.

Chase Jarvis on Fire

Gotta love Social Media. I started using Twitter (@therealmikewong) recently and started following my friend Dave Cross from Photoshop User TV (@davecross for you Twitter users). One day, Dave posted a “tweet” about Seattle-based photographer and director Chase Jarvis (@chasejarvis). I started following Chase on Twitter and have been glad I did.

Chase has been posting and tweeting some great stuff lately about staying creative and getting creative if you’re having trouble. Witness this video.

There’s another video in his series of teasers that you should watch as well.

Visualizing Color Conversions (repost)

I was just over at John Paul Caponigro’s blog and watched a video that he recently posted about converting your RAW camera files to use the Pro Photo color space. This is something I do when I export a RAW file from Lightroom to edit in Photoshop CS4, but for those of you who don’t or haven’t really understood why this is important or why you might want to, this video from JP describes it perfectly in a medium that we can all easily understand.

Video testimonials from Photoshop World

Last month at Photoshop World in Boston, we brought along a Flip Mino HD. Why? Well, not only are we into cameras and and other digital gadgets, but it seems that every show we go to, someone comes up to us saying very nice things about their experiences with onOne Software products. We love hearing that kind of feedback people using our software and wanted to record it to share with others (like you!). Here’s a brief compilation of some of the unsolicited testimonials people gave us while in Boston.
