Update: Mac OS X Lion and Time Machine

August 9, 2011 by Mike Wong • 6 Comments

Good news. We're getting closer on our Mac OS X Lion update. We found two additional bugs and are fixing them now. The crashing issues that people are seeing when running PS CS5 in 64-bit mode has been fixed.

Other good news - we've discovered what is causing the Time Machine backups to fail. Please do not interpret my next sentence as any type of excuse, but rather as an attempt to provide you with as much info as possible. It's actually a bug with how Time Machine handles aliases but we're going to release an update that works around this Time Machine bug rather than wait for a Time Machine update.

We're going to release the fixes for the Time Machine backup along with the fixes for the PhotoTools and PhotoFrame crashing issues in Mac OS X Lion in an update that we should have available by the end of this week. This has been a high priority for us and we're glad we've got the fixes in place and are just going through the final testing, bug regression and installer building process.

As soon as the fixes are posted, we'll post here to the blog, to twitter, to Facebook and alert everyone via email.

Update: PhotoTools, PhotoFrame & Mac OS X Lion

August 1, 2011 by Mike Wong • 16 Comments

Just a quick update on compatibility with Mac OS X Lion (10.7) and PhotoTools and PhotoFrame. I just got an email from one of our developers that they believe they have the fix for this and will be testing it this week. If all goes well, we'll get the update out right away.

I'll post more when I hear from our development team. Thank you once again for your patience.

As many of you already know, PhotoFrame 4.6 Professional Edition comes packed with tons of frames, edges, borders, texture overlays and adornments. Knowing where to start - and sometimes when to stop once you get going - can be challenging. When I saw this review of PhotoFrame 4.6 from travel photographer Ken Kaminesky, I knew I had to share it with you because, honestly, this is some of the most relevant and modern examples of PhotoFrame that I've seen out there in a while.

Free Album Templates & Layouts

January 18, 2011 by Mike Wong • 8 Comments

If you've ever had to design a wedding album or senior portrait albums, you know how time consuming it can be. One of the ways that photographers have been jump-starting that design process is by using PhotoFrame and using content from the PhotoFrame library to build templates from.

In fact, there are all kinds of ways you can use PhotoFrame to build very cool album templates. However, some people still struggle with that because they find it hard to find the time to actually build the templates or go through all of the content in PhotoFrame. That's why today, we've announced a new "mini-site" within our web site.

Starting today, you can go to our Free Album Templates and Backgrounds page (it's actually a wordpress powered site within our web site) and download, for free, album templates (some are as many as 26 pages), layouts and backgrounds that you can use in either personal or commercial projects.

The templates include styles for weddings, high school seniors, families & kids and are all sized to work with White House Custom Color (one of the most popular album printers). Here are just a few examples of the templates you can download.

Many of the layouts also include several layer comps (did I mention that the files you download are just Photoshop PSD files complete with layers and layer comps?) so you have lots of options for each file you download. And, none of the templates you download require the use or ownership of any onOne product.
