Essentials is not available to use when Elements has started up
When the welcome screen comes up for Elements comes up be sure to choose EDIT mode or the Essentials will not function. If the welcome screen does not display go to the Windows tab at the top and put a check next to Welcome. This will prompt the Welcome screen to return the next time you open Elements. Essentials will not work with the other modes of Elements, like the Organizer.
