<p>If the above steps do not work and the error message still shows, this can only mean the product you are trying to activate does not match the corresponding license you have purchased.  We have both Professional and Standard editions with some our software. If the wrong version is installed it will not activate with your license.</p>
<p>For example, a Plug-in Suite serial number will not work with the individual products updates or installers</p>
<p>Another example would be if you tried to activate Genuine Fractals Professional Edition with the Standard Edition license.</p>
<p>Also, if you have downloaded any onOne Software demo products, they can interfere with your activation as well.</p>
<p>We suggest uninstalling everything onOne on your computer and reinstalling the exact program you have purchased. Once you have the correct version installed, you will not have a problem activating your product.</p>

Windows 7<br />
</strong></span>This is due to the User Account Control (UAC) in Windows 7 being turned on. Please adjust the UAC settings (steps 1-5) and then open Photoshop and launch the plug-in.</p>

<li>Go to: Control Panel/ User Accounts</li>
<li>Select the user account</li>
<li>Select &#8220;Change User Account Control Settings&#8221;</li>
<li>Set the UAC notification slider to &#8220;Never Notify&#8221;</li>

<li>Launch the plug-in again. Once the plug-in is open, you will be able to set the UAC to your preferred setting.</li>

Please close Photoshop first. Go to the Start menu, select Control Panel and then launch Administrative Tools.  Once Administrative Tools is open, please launch Services.  In this window you should see AST Service and you should be able to right click on AST Service and select properties. Please set the start up type to automatic. Please also choose to start the service if it is stopped. Once you have selected these options, click apply. Now launch Photoshop and you should be able to access the plug-in.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Mac</strong></span><br />
Please close Photoshop. Go to the Mac HD\Applications\Utilities and launch the Activity Monitor.</p>
<p>In the upper right corner of the Activity Monitor window there is a drop down menu. From this menu, please choose All Processes.  In the list of activities, there will be a process called NalpierondVb.  Please select this and then click on the Quit button.</p>
<p>When the confirmation dialog comes up click on the Force Quit button. Once force quit has been selected, please restart the MAC.  This should prevent the error message from appearing.</p>
<p>Sometimes another process like a virus protection program can prevent the AST Service from starting for the first time.</p>

<p>If you cannot remember which version of Photoshop CS 4 you activated under you will need to use the included License Manager to deactivate with.  To locate this go to C:\Program Files\onOne Software\&lt;onOne Plug-In&gt;.  Double click on the License Manager.exe and click on the button for Internet Deactivate.  Type in your license number and then click on the Deactivate button.</p>
<p>To easily activate/deactivate your onOne product in both versions of Photoshop you can temporarily turn off UAC and then activate under both versions of Photoshop.</p>
<p>If you cannot locate your license number please contact customer service and if you&#8217;re registered they will be able to retrieve your license number.</p>

2. Download the zip file
3.  Please unzip the downloaded file
4. Once the file has been unzipped, copy the ASTSRV.EXE file to the following location c:\Windows\System32
5. Please restart the computer, open Photoshop, and you will be able to launch PhotoTools
